THE STEVE SPANGLER EXPERIENCE AT KESLER SCIENCE

Think of Steve Spangler as our Phenomenon-Based Learning Artist in Residence here at Kesler Science (cool title, right?).

When it comes to eye-catching science demonstrations, Steve Spangler has filled an entire warehouse with gizmos, gadgets and clever contraptions all designed to illustrate science concepts in hopes of inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.
As part of our new partnership, we’ve asked Steve to host a monthly professional development workshop. It’s called Steve Spangler’s Everyday STEM Workshop (makes sense). This one-hour professional development workshop is free to all Kesler Science members who are looking for creative ideas, best practices and instructional strategies for using phenomenon-based learning to engage students on the highest level (hopefully that’s you).

THE STEVE SPANGLER EXPERIENCE AT KESLER SCIENCE

WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT STEVE

If you’ve been teaching science for a few years, you’ve probably heard the name Steve Spangler. You might have one of his science experiment books on your bookshelf or maybe you’re using one of his many science kits in your classroom. But the chances are even higher that you’ve run into his collection of more than 1,800 science videos on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and whatever else has popped up along the way. Those nerdy science videos have more than 1 BILLION views… that’s probably the reason there are so many Diet Coke stains on kitchen ceilings from people trying his Mentos challenges. His nationally syndicated television show called DIY Sci is entering its 5th season on Fox and the CW networks as well as Amazon Prime.

What you might not know is… Steve spends the majority of his time helping teachers with their professional development needs. Steve connects with thousands of educators each year presenting at conferences, school districts, private workshops, summer institutes and now lots of virtual events. We here at Kesler Science are excited about our new partnership with Steve and his team to create some amazing phenomenon-based learning lessons and to keep our creative ideas flowing each month with his inspirational professional development workshops. his area to describe the image or provide supporting information.
